Summertime with the EFRJ!
Please note that this is the last Newsflash of the Summer! We will come back in September.

The EFRJ, in collaboration with colleagues from the Criminal Justice Platform Europe, has recently co-organised the first successful edition of the Criminal Justice Summer Courses (Barcelona, 4-7 July): you can find the presentations online. Next week it will be in Italy for the 7th edition of the EFRJ Summer School (Como, 24-28 July): follow us on social media to receive updates on these events! The booklet is now available online.

Your contributions welcomed

The EFRJ is collecting contributions for two of the next events we are organising!
First of all, on the occasion of the RJ WEEK 2017 (19-26 November), we will publish a booklet on arts and RJ (for awareness, for communication purposes, etc.). We collect articles (1000-2000 words) until 1 October: please spread the voice beyond our membership!

Second, we recently launched the call for abstracts to present at the biannual EFRJ conference (Tirana, 14-16 June 2018). Contributions on RJ in criminal justice, RJ in juvenile justice and RJ as a social movement are welcomed under the main title of the conference 'Expanding the restorative imagination. Restorative justice between realities and visions in Europe and beyond'.

News from France
We received two articles from France on the Ministerial Circular concerning the implementation of RJ. The first one (in French) written by Eric Rommeluère, member of the French platform for RJ, shares his insights on the circular as well as his thoughts on the developments of RJ in France. The second one (in English) refers to the same circular and it has been written by magistrate Nathalie Mazaud.

Report 'A sense of responsibility'

Image result for prison trust

A new report entitled ‘A sense of responsibility’ has been recently published by the Prison Reform Trust and written by academics from the Institute for Criminal Policy Research. The report includes interventions (e.g. RJ) which encourage people to develop a positive sense of self and a sense of responsibility for their own lives and towards others.
