Greetings from Barcelona!

One month ago you received this newsflash from Berlin, where the EFRJ had its Annual General Meeting followed by a seminar. Few weeks later you received our news from Como, where we have been busy with the organisation of our next Summer School on RJ and serious crimes.
Now, you read us while we are in Barcelona together with our colleagues from the Criminal Justice Platform Europe for the first edition of the
Criminal Justice Summer Courses (4-7 July). Download the booklet here and follow us on social media during the event!

EFRJ booklet on arts and RJ

EFRJ members recently received the June issue of the EFRJ Newsletter. This special edition has been dedicated to Arts and RJ, where arts are used either to encourage restorative dialogues, or to raise awareness about RJ, or as RJ practices by themselves. The articles will be published in a booklet which will be launched in occasion of the RJ WEEK 2017. If you want to contribute, or if you know other artistic projects including RJ principles and/or practices, please keep us informed! We are currently searching for new materials to be published: deadline 1 October!

We welcome presentations (or other interactive workshp sessions) on topics fitting the three main themes of the conference, namely RJ in criminal justice settings, RJ in juvenile justice cases and RJ as a social movement. The themes fit the general title of the conference, 'Expanding the restorative imagination. Restorative justice between realities and visions in Europe and beyond'.

Asia-Pacific Forum for RJ
The Asia-Pacific Forum for Restorative Justice (APFRJ) will meet on 13 July (12:00-12:45) in Cairns, during the conference organised by the Asian Criminological Society (10-13 July). This is a good occasion to meet the new coordinator of the APFRJ, Prof. Dennis Wong of City University of Hong Kong, who will take the lead instead of Dr. Brian Steels, who will now take the  role of honorary Patron together with Prof. John Braithwaite.          Image may contain: sky, cloud, ocean and outdoor

Moment of inspiration

The exposition 'Global War of Terror' (London until 28 August, free entry) brings together several works by photographer Edmund Clark to explore the hidden experiences of state control. Looking at issues of security, secrecy, representation and legality, the show focuses on the measures taken by states to protect their citizens from the threat of terrorism and the far-reaching effects of such methods of control.
