EFRJ Conference Tirana 2018
		Extended deadline for submitting your abstract proposal: 7 JANUARY. Do not miss this opportunity to actively participate in the EFRJ conference Expanding the restorative imagination. Restorative justice between realities and visions in Europe and beyond. Workshop sessions will include presentations, training, panel discussions, film screenings, etc. on the three sub-themes (i.e. RJ in criminal justice, RJ in juvenile justice and RJ as a social movement). Please disseminate the poster of this event within your network!

Consultation meeting for RJ experts

The EFRJ will bring together 40 experts in different areas/activities in the field of RJ for a consultation meetingin Leuven on 18 December. This meeting is reserved to members of the EFRJ (more info here: the deadline for renewing the membership 2017 is 10 December!). We are looking forward to meeting you soon!

#RJWeek all year long!
		Thanks for all those members who celebrated with us the international RJ Week 2017! Some of you are still celebrating until the end of the year, organsinig film screenings and debates in different settings. Check the calendar for more updates! We counted 148 events in 26 different countries worldwide! In case you missed it, the EFRJ published the booklet 'Restorative imagination: artistic pathways. Ideas and experiences at the intersection between art and restorative justice'. To be downloaded via the the EFRJ website or ordered via the Secretariat.

Training on Restorative Approaches

EFRJ member Belinda Hopkins (from our Working Group on Values & Standards for RJ) will deliver a 3-day training on Restorative Approaches (London 16-18 Jan) for applying RJ principles at home, at work and out in the world.

Workshop on Mental health in Prison and Probation

Our partners in the Criminal Justice Platform Europe, CEP and EuroPris are organising a joint workshop on Mental Health in Prison and Probation (Dublin, 6-7 December 2017). The programme is available online (registrations closed).

Seminar on radicalisation

Save the date for the ERA seminar on rehabilitation and alternative sanctions to detention for radicalised individuals (Utrecht, 8-9 March 2018). The EFRJ is partner in this project! The programme will be online soon!

Equinet conference

Following the 10th anniversary conference and celebrations (Brussels 10 October), Equinet- European Network of Equality Bodies shared a video summary, speeches given, and all communication material that was promoted during the day. All on its website.

Intensive Peacebuilding Courses

The Canadian School of Peacebuilding offers 5-day intensive courses for professional development, personal inspiration, or academic credit (Winnipeg, Canada 11-15 June and 18-22 June 2018). Topics include peacebuilding approaches to violent extremism, conflict development in Indigenous communities, trauma and resilience, arts-based approaches to social change, and more.

Moment of inspiration
		Il bambino e la farfalla (the child and the butterfly) is a fairy tale written and told by the detainees of an Italian prison (Marino del Tronto). The story (recorded in a CD) tells about the magical journey of a child in a wonderland garden. In this way, the project aims at helping prisoners to share their emotions. An article on this project was published in the EFRJ booklet on arts and RJ.
