CJPE seminar on radicalisation

On 26 April 2016, the Criminal Justice Platform Europe organised the seminar 'Radicalisation and Violent Extremism'. You can now find the notes and presentations of this seminar on the Europris website.

Lecture on victimology
		During the EFRJ conference 2016, many participants asked for the inaugural lecture of Prof. Dr. Antony Pemberton, one of the plenary speakers at the conference, director of the International Victimology Institute Tilburg (INTERVICT) and professor of victimology at Tilburg Law School. Presentation of 'The Book of the Encounter'

The authors of the book ‘Il libro dell’incontro. Vittime e responsabili della lotta armata a confronto’ (The Book of the Encounter. Victims and former armed fighters facing each other- Bertagna, Ceretti and Mazzucato, 2015) have been invited by the Italian Minister of Justice to present the book in a public event on 5 July in Rome. IIRP conference

The International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) will have its 21st world conference in Bethlehem (USA) on 24-26 October 2016. The full schedule, including more than 65 sessions, is now available online. Registrations are still open: click here for more info.

WMO's reports and symposium

The World Mediation Organization recently uploaded new WMO Conflict Insight reports. This global platform offers reports on local conflicts and corresponding background information for mediation practitioners, students, academics. It is possible to leave comments on the bottom page of the website. The next WMO Symposium will take place in Bangkok on 23-26 August 2016. The theme is 'Mediation, the Language of Peaceful Communication and Conflict Resolution'.

RJC AGM and conference

The Restorative Justice Council (RJC) announced that its 2016 Annual General Meeting and members’ conference will be held on 22 November in London. As in the previous years, these events will take place during the international RJ Week. Save the dates: more information will be available soon here.

Toolbox for preventing secondary victimization
		In March 2016, the European Crime Prevention Network (ECPN) published the seventh toolbox on 'Preventing Secondary Victimization: Policies & practices'. The EFRJ has been mentioned in the report, because of its work in the field of RJ.

Music of inspiration

Also this summer, the EFRJ team will share with you some music to better prepare your holidays! This month, you can enjoy a Prison Blues and Songs compilation, recorded live at the Mississippi and Louisiana State Penitentaries.
