| RJIJ Annual Lecture |

The editorial board of the 'Restorative Justice: An International Journal' (RJIJ) is pleased to announce the2016 RJIJ Annual Lecture (Milan, 12 October). The lecture will be delivered by Prof. John Braithwaite on 'Restorative justice along the Silk Road: Comparative lessons from Europe to Asia on reconciliation, forgiveness and peace'. Members of the EFRJ receive a reduced rate for the RJIJ (discover more here!).

| European Day of Mediation for Social Inclusion |
|
The European Day of Mediation for Social Inclusion will take place in Lunéville (France) on 16 September 2016. The program includes presentations on the use of mediation as an emerging form for social intervention, for example to prevent extremist violence or to address intercultural issues when hosting asylum-seekers in Europe. On this day, the project CreE.A (Création d'un Espace européen de la médiation pour l'inclusion sociale) will be launched.

| CEP conference on alternatives to detention |
|
On 6-7 October 2016, The Confederation of European Probation (CEP) will organise an international conference in Bucharest (Romania). The event will bring together different perspectives and concepts regarding 'Alternatives to detention' from various European countries, institutions and universities. Among other speakers, Tim Chapman (Board member of the EFRJ) will present on 'Radicalization and restoration in the community'.

| Winter Programs on peace and dialogue |
| The Institute for Peace and Dialogue announced its nextInternational Winter Programs in Peacebuilding, Conflict Transformation, Mediation, Security and Intercultural Dialogue, which is going to be held in Switzerland on 17 February-16 May 2017. Applicants could choose either 10 days Winter academy or 3 Month CAS-Research program in their filled application (deadline 1 November). |

| Conference on cities as living museums for peace |
|
The 9th international conference of the International Network of Museums for Peace will be held in Belfast on 10-13 April 2017. The conference theme, ‘Cities as Living Museums for Peace’, will highlight (among other subjects), Belfast’s social and political transformation from a divided, troubled city to one which models peace consciousness through post-conflict healing and reconciliation. | The 22nd German Congress on Crime Prevention including the 11th Annual International Forum will take place on 19-20 June 2017 in Hanover (Germany). International experts from all areas of crime prevention are welcome to introduce, share and discuss their ideas, goals, outcomes, projects and speeches with other experts. The deadline for the call of papers is 15 October. |

| The international conference 'Crime and Justice in Asia and the Global South' will take place in Cairns (Australia) on 10-13 July 2017. The conference is co-hosted by the Crime and Justice Research Centre in Queensland University of Technology and the Asian Criminological Society. Among the international speakers, two RJ scholars, Prof. John Braithwaite (Australia) and Prof. Chuen-Jim Sheu (Taiwan-US). |
